I've been interested in Photography since I was 13, and I've decided that I want to try make a career out of it. I have worked as a freelancer for a couple of local businesses, and even a major newspaper. I mostly shoot public events, but also portraits and nature/landscape shots.

long time no write.
havent really had time (or motivation) to write anything recently due to work being pretty full on at the moment. the full timers are taking leave one at a time, so i'm picking up the slack. which is great for bank account, but not my already tattered social life.

tried moving out of home in late December/early January, which feel out of its arse because apparently a single, employed 23 year old male with no rent history is a risk home owners aren't willing to take.

"how do i get rent history" i asked one real estate agent.

"By renting a house" she answered in a rather embarrassed manner.

i know its not her fault, but jesus christ its irritating! judging me on something i haven't even experienced yet is one of my big bug bears in life. it was the same with employment; no experience no job, no job no experience. the only reason i have the job i have now is because of one kind small business owner willing to give me a go. spending 6+ months being ignored by literally every store, company, service and individual that i asked, was not fun. and i know i'm not alone in this.

another door that i had slammed in my face was access to government aid. in Australia we have centrelink, a broken and failed attempted at trying to give money to people who need it. back when i was 19 and studying, i was told i couldn't apply for it because my father earned to much. Why my father had to come into it at all i was never clear on to begin with, but basically they wanted me to mooch of my parents instead of them. i managed to make to do but it wasn't fun. it was a very demoralizing time for me.

moving on from my personal therapy/ranting session...

photos are still in the making, have a couple of lighting shots as well as some from a mountain bike championship. turns out my city hosts it from time to time. still working on getting my telescope set up to work. i need a few new eye pieces before i can get any decent star/planet shots. also have a watermark i've been working on. see it soon!

other than that, just being your friendly neighborhood shut-in!

till next time!
